UK Settlement visas

We receive many enquiries from potential clients in South Africa who are looking to migrate to the UK.

Substantial changes have occurred in the past six months and more changes are in the pipeline to the major categories of visas to enter Great Britain. Notably, the English requirements have been tightened up considerably and it is now compulsory to do an English test if you are the Spouse/Defacto or Same Sex partner of person who has the right to live permanently in the UK.

Many people attempt to lodge Spouse visa applications without the English test and this is only possible if you have a Degree from a recognised University. Having an MBA, Masters or even a PhD, for example, does not mean that you are excluded from doing the English test. Please check with IIA!

We have been assisting many people with their visa applications to the British High Commission for over 12 years and have a high success rate. Note also that merely providing the minimum documents listed on any checklist, is not always sufficient to meet the visa officers' strict guidelines - it is often a case of penny-wise, pound foolish if you attempt to compile an application yourself, without the assistance of a professional migration consultant. We put together a very comprehensive application, making sure that there are no 'holes' or grey areas and you will see that the time and effort we put into your case, is well worth the fee.

In our next post, we will attempt to give an update on the English language requirements and where you can do the test, for all visa subclasses to the UK, as this information has recently been updated.
