We receive many calls on a daily basis relating to the new requirements for English language testing for most UK visa categories. Note that we do not give out information on the Test centres, or procedures / instructions for booking the English tests unless you are an existing client of ours.
Please note that it is now compulsory for all Spouses of UK citizens who are applying for a Settlement visa to produce evidence of English language ability. If you have studied a Degree in English, you may be exempt from producing an English language test result, however please contact IIA to evaluate your individual case.
Please also note that most of the VAC's (Visa Application Centres) are not equipped to offer migration advice and in the majority of cases will not comment on whether you need to provide an English language test or not, or where you must do the test. It is therefore imperative that you check these requirements before you lodge your visa application. Otherwise, you may find that your application is declined and you have to pay for the government fees again!
If you have been in the unfortunate position of having a visa application declined by the British High Commission, for whatever grounds, please contact us to advise if we can assist you in preparing a new application and what the process, timeframe and fees will be.
